LifeChat LX-3000 can't hear myself during phone calls

Speakers and Microphone both work. When I make phone calls the other person can hear me and I can hear the other person. However, I can't hear myself which is quite annoying. I looked everywhere and couldn't find a setting that controls that. How do I fix it?

I know this is an old one, but if you go to the Sound app in the Control Panel, and select your headphones from the list you can adjust the Headset Microphone level in the properties dialog.  That will control the level of audio routed to the headset speakers from the headset microphone.

    a)      Click Start, type mmsys.cpl in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.

    b)      On the Playback tab, click your headset device name.

    c)       Click Set as default.

    d)      Click Properties

    e)      On the Levels tab adjust the Headset Microphone level to the desired volume.  This value controls the level of audio routed to the headset speakers from the headset microphone.

    f)      Click OK.

    g)     Click OK.

I tried different USB ports on two different computers. One laptop, one desktop. No change.

I tried method 1 and it didn't help. Have yet to try method 2.

Symptoms are always the same. I can hear the other person and they can hear me. I just can't hear myself.

    Hi,

    1. Are you able to listen to your own voice after plugging in the USB headset to any other USB port?
    2. Did you try playing the USB headset in any other computer and check if the issue still persists?

Perform the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Set the Headset earphone as default and check if it helps by performing the following steps:

    a)      Click Start, type mmsys.cpl in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.

    b)      On the Playback tab, click your headset device name.

    c)       Click Set as default.

    d)      Click OK.

Refer to this article for more information regarding this:

    Enable sounds in LifeChat headset

    Method 2:

    Remove and reinstall Lifechat device:

    a)      Go to Start-> Control Panel (Classic View) -> System icon, and click Device Manager on the left.

    b)      Expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers.

    c)       See if the first or second entry is "Lifechat Lx-3000 Microphone ".

    d)      Right-click on Lifechat Lx-3000 Microphone and select Uninstall.

    e)      Unplug and plug the Lifechat Lx-3000 Microphone onto the computer.

    f)       In the Device Manager, click the Scan for hardware changes button on the toolbar and let it scan your computer.

    g)      When the system finds the new device, it will request to install the right driver.

Refer: Drivers, software, and documentation for your product

    Hope this information is useful.

I have the same issue and did both things above, no change.  Is that just how these work?  I have no idea how loud I am talking.
