Original Title: Help! Totally confused

Recently I started having a pretty massive problem with my pc, I suspect it may be an issue with the video card but I'm not sure.

Basically my monitor goes nuts and becomes pixalated  and messed up looking... sometimes I get forced shut downs or my computer will just freeze up.

I can run it in safe mode which sometimes will look normal and other times will look messed up and pixelated.

Here are some images of what I'm seeing:

I'm at a total loss- thanks for the help!!!!

    Hi

You might want to try the built-in Troubleshooters to isolate the problem.

    Open Control Panel / Troubleshooting.

On the left side menu, select View All.

Use the Display Quality, Hardware and Devices, and Performance troubleshooters.

When the troubleshooters run, they can automatically fix some issues.

    Let us know the results.

    Regards

Two things I'd check.  First do you have the monitor set to the defaut resolution?  Second, your graphics card could be giving up the ghost.  If it's the latter, you can buy inexpensive graphics cards that would remedy the problem.

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

Having pretty much the same thing happening to my Dell laptop computer. Happens several times a day, wondering if anyone might know if it's the video card, or how i could figure out what the problem is, thanks.
