Ok. I was installing Ubuntu. While re-partitioning my drive, the computer froze up during the resizing of an NTFS partition and while in Ubuntu Live (of the CD) it tells me to run chkdsk /f, then reboot twice. So I found an old XP disc and attempted to boot from it into recovery mode etc but as it finishes the preliminary tasks and starts to run windows, I get this blue screen error (Blue screen error 0x0000007B (0xF78DA63C, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)).

I don't understand why I cannot run recovery mode off the disc to attempt to salvage my hard drive. Help!

Exactly why is this the Answer?

Is it simply because it "is time" to mark some MSE reply with a link to a KB article as the answer?
