autodata 3.38 runtime error 217 at 004BB10D

Hi 

I have installed autodata 3.38 on windows 7 but i was told i had to update to visual c++ 2010. When i start to run the programe i get this runtime error 217 at 004BB10D

Can anybody help please?

    Hi K3nnyb,

    Follow the suggestions listed below for a possible fix:

    Method 1: I would suggest you to perform clean boot and check.

    How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    Note: After troubleshooting, make sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in Step 7 in the above KB article.

    Method 2: You may also perform system restore on your computer.

    System restore will take your computer to pervious state when it was not facing such problem, this can be done by selecting the proper restore point. 

     To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:

    a.       Click Start, type system restore in the Start Search box, and then click System Restore in the Programs list.

    If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.

    b.      In the System Restore dialog box, click Choose a different restore point, and then click Next.

    c.       In the list of restore points, click a restore point that was created before you began to experience the issue, and then click Next.

    d.      Click Finish.

    Windows 7 x64 runtime error 217 fix

    need do this: 

    1)open cmd  (like admin)

    1. write "cd c:\adcda2" and "regsvr32 ChilkatCrypt2.dll"

    3)Enjoy you wooden)

    if use Windows 7  and have "runtime error 217 at 004BB10D" do this:

    uninstall  Microsoft Visual C + + 2008 Redistributable Package and install new 2010 version, Microsoft Visual C + + 2010.

    It works to me!

    Dear

    I have the same problem with this program when i tried to install it this error appears, i don't know why but at all.

    it opens a file as administrator vcredist 86x then vcredist 64x then a window with this run time error appears is it related to the VGA card or something else?!!!
