I have vista premium and the keyboard shortcuts like Ctrl+c, Ctrl+V for copy paste don't work. Help!

I have figured out that my problem is that the CTRL key I am used to using ( on my Acer Aspire One netbook ) on the left corner of the keyboard (away from the open screen) is not working.
I didn't realize that there is another CTRL key (on the right side below the period (.).
The other CTRL key works fine. I think my best workaround is to train myself to use the right side CTRL key.

I had this problem then found a setting solution that worked for a several weeks. Now control C & control V don't work again (Vista Business). I can't find the article with the setting solution.
Another forum said it could be keylogger. I have up to date NAV.
Edit: The problem resolved itself mostly except some web pages excerpts I have to right click & copy because control-C doesn't work.
