    Hi Bob,

Windows 7 is better designed than Windows XP when it comes to system recovery. Unfortunately, we do not have System recovery options in Windows XP.

You will need a disc to perform a fresh installation or format the drive containing the operating system.

If you just want to create a partition, then refer to the following link.

    Also see,

    Hope this helps.

Hi,  replies to your queries below.

    (1) Windows XP

    (2) No recovery disc.

    (3) everything.   Will not connect to wifi with or without a cable connected (no problems connecting

    with my other laptop)

    Constantly seizes up.

    will not system restore.

Screen says missing files to most things I try to do.

Takes forever to do anything then freezes*.*

I  partioned my other laptop ( windows 7) that had most of the symtoms above with no disc and it cured all my problems.  why can't I do the same with XP?

    Regards Bob Smith.
