If page up and down keys move to much use the up and down arrow keys for smaller increments.
What is the keyboard shortcut for scrolling up and down?
original title: What is the keyboard shortcut for scrolling up and down (not left to right or right to left)?
I don't use the mouse while using my laptop while watching TV and I don't like using the touchpad either. So what is the keyboard shortcut for scrolling up and down the screen? This scroll bar appears at the very right of the screen stretching from top to bottom. I am not talking about the scroll bar that is from left to right. Thanks.

2014-03-19T16:57:26+00:00 Hello
The OP asks for a keystroke equivalent to the vertical scrollbar.
If your cursor (caret, or text insertion point) is inside a text field, and you use the vertical scrollbar, your cursor does not change position-- only the window moves up and down.
But, the Page and arrow keys change your cursor position. Therefor, they are not the equivalent of the vertical scrollbar.
I'm seeking what the OP implies (even if the asker didn't actually care about that)-- a keyboard-shortcut that scrolls a textfield up and down without changing the cursor position.
Any help for browser textboxes? It might be vendor-specific....
I believe Word has it's own keystroke for that, but not sure if Windows does. In TEDNotepad, it's ALT-Arrow.
thx!
(maybe i should start a new thread....?)
