You might get a quicker answer if you contacted ACER.

To all that had trouble with this and who will have trouble with this. Acer decided that they are not going to support Empowering technologies windows 7. That is why this will be my last Acer.

To fix this on windows 7 64 bit, download the vista 64 bit install file. Install empowering technologies. Then right click on the icon and choose properties, then compatibility, then "run this program in compatibility with " then from the drop down list choose "windows vista (service pack 2)". Click OK and it should now work.

    Asalamu Alaikum

i know this is a late reply lol, but ive only just seen it

yes, the empowering technology framework can be installed in windows 7

    i'll give you a link

    http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_5920.html

just go on that website, the 'as_5920' in the link is my model number, you would have to enter it depending on your own model, ofcourse lol

ok so once you go on there:

1- select 'Driver and Utilities' from the first list

2- select  'Empowering Technology and Utilities' from the second list

3- select '64 Bit Driver' from the third list

note: you will have to install the 'Empowering Technology and Utilities' first

4- download the widgets 1 by 1, depending on the ones you prefer, they're in the second list

a problem i had was that i couldnt download 'Empowering Technology and Utilities' from this page, if you have the same problem:

1- at the bottom of the page you will see a message "Note: Additional downloads may be available on our FTP site", click on 'FTP site' it, you will be directed to a page of model numbers

2- from the list, find your model number and click on it

3- click on 'Vista' from the list (note: dont worry about the windows version, it will work on windows too, as it works for me)

4- click on *'*Applications'  from the list

5- from the list, select the top option, 'Acer Empowering Framework 2.5.4006.zip'

6- you can also download and install all the widgets from there, or you can go back to the first link that i gave to you at the top of the page: http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_5920.html

i hope this helps, it may be long and annoying but its a relief later on lol

    take care

    Asalamu Alaikum
