Intel My Wifi Technology says 'Adapter not found'?

I have a Toshiba A665-S5170 laptop and for a few days now it has been saying the wifi is disabled, even though I am connected to the internet. Today I noticed the icon for Intel My Wifi Technology says 'Adapter not found' but I am still able to connect to the internet. Should I be concerned about this? I rarely shut down my computer (I just put it to hibernate) and I'm afraid to do that or even restart it because the wireless might not work if I do. Thanks for any help anyone can give!

    Hi,

You may go ahead and restart your computer if everything works fine. If you face any issues, you may perform a system restore to a previous date by referring the following links.

    Refer: What is System Restore?

Thank you for the reply. The only updates to my computer recently are ones Windows update chooses. I used method 2 and it says all of my devices are working properly. I read on another thread that the My Wifi technology is actually only meant to allow me to use my computer as a wifi hot spot, is that true? That would explain why my internet is still up and running and, if that's the case, I'm not sure if the network adapter working is a problem since I don't use my computer as a hot spot. Do you think I can restart and/or shut it down without this affecting my internet connection?

    Hi,

    1. Have you made any software or hardware changes to your computer prior to this issue?

To work on the issue, refer these methods.

    Method 1:

I suggest you run Network Troubleshooter and check whether the cause can be detected by the built-in application.

Access the below links for more information on Network Troubleshooter:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Using-the-Network-troubleshooter-in-Windows-7

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Open-networking-troubleshooters

    Method 2:

Obtain the information for the following question from the device manager.

Are there any yellow question marks in Device Manager? If yes what is the Device Error code?

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Open-Device-Manager

To see Hidden Devices (Non Plug and Play Drivers) you will need to refer these steps.

    a) Select View

    b) Show Hidden Devices.

It is necessary to do this every time you open Device Manager if you need to see them.

    Method 3:
