    Mornin' Julie

Morning Disclaimer:  I'm just having my first cup 'o coffee, just woke up, no apologies for mispelling!

or shortness/dumbness/idiocy of questions/answers.  Gimme' a coupla' hours.

    Coupla' questions:

      1.  Testing <or equal to 500 disks....they are in right side up...No/Yes?

      2.  Have they been previously written to?....DVD-R will only let you write once.   DVD-RW = multiple read/writes

      3.  DVD-RW +- is the way to go...Yes, they are more expensive, but less headaches in the future.

      4.  Have you formatted a disk and then attempted to write to it?

    Statements/answers/diatribe:

      1.  See #3 above.

      2.  It is possible that your dvd burner is on the way out.

      3.  Have you used this particular brand 'o dvd, or is this one of those Super Inexpensive Buy 500 and get a deal packs?

      4.  Try another burner...if available.  If that works, sumpin' in your sys is kapooty. Or, see #3 right above.

    Request:

    1. Please include more of what troubleshooting that you've done...I'm at a disadvantage here, See "Morning Disclaimer", please.

    Hope any of this helps

    Horatio

[paused for 2nd cup o' coffee]

just had another thought...theres a 3rd party prog out there, and I believe that Nero used to bundle it, called "InCd"  that will format CD's now....dont' know about dvds, with the ability to be used like a floppy would....read, write, erase to your hearts content.  If you do go with Nero see if its on the dvd with the nero prog.  If not ask around, your buddies, parents, whatever, and see if they have it...I know it still works in Win 7.  Pulled it off one of my dinosaur (I save everything) prog disks, installed it and, yes...it works in the Win 7 environment....REMEMBER:  you can go back but you can't go forward.  What this means is you can use legacy progs with newer OS's but not vice versa.  Newer progs with older OS's.
