MFC71.DLL file not found

I am having trouble running a program due to the following error....

"This application has failed to start because MFC71.DLL was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."

Re-installing the application did not fix the problem.

Also note that I am trying to run this program in the virtual XP machine mode of Windows 7 becuase the program isn't compatible with the Windows 7 OS.

I have also attempted to update the .NET framework since the very first error that I encountered suggested I do so. After updating I have been experiencing the MFC71.DLL error.

Any suggestions would be great.

So, MS doesn't have a solution and I should go to external source? How cool is that?

Try to find MFC71.DLL from your PC it will be there somewhere.

After you find it copy into your 'Windows' folder.  In that form the Path of the file can be located by your program that you are trying to run.  This should fix issues with other missing DLL if any.
