.Original title: Exe File Loads, But Does Not Run?
Hello, so I decided to play GTA - San Andreas, and came up with a problem -- my Xbox 360 controller isn't compatible with the game. So, with some research and luck, I found a program claiming to utilize my controller with GTA. [http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=114]
So I downloaded and extracted the files, and double click the .exe file. My mouse shows a little loading symbol, and... nothing.
I try running as administrator, and.... nothing.
I open the, "readme" and see this:
" Unzip all contents to any folder you wish.
If the program fails to run then you might need the Visual Basic 6 runtimes
available from Microsoft. This tool also requires DirectX 7 or better."
I know I have a DirectX over 7, since I play newer games quite often that requires it.
So I decided to download Visual Basic 6 Runtimes, here: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=24417
I download it, install it, open a file that shows an extraction to "Windows 32" for a split second, and it closes.
Thinking the installation was all done, I proceeded to trying to re-open the program shown in my first paragraph.
Still. It shows the loading symbol, but still... nothing.
