Will Microsoft be making the Microsoft D67-00001 Trackball Optical Mouse ever again?

I went to buy a new one and just found out it is no longer being made... it is the best mouse I have ever used. Does anyone else make them with the thumb trackball?

I haven't used a regular old fashioned moved-your-hand-everywhere style mouse in many years and the other style of tractball mice I simply don't care for. I realll REALLY enjoy the thumb style trackball mouse, it leaves my fingers free to click buttons on the mouse and I can easily turn and pivot in gaming without having to move my hand at all.

If I can't get them anymore or if no one is making them I want Microsoft to know that there are customers out here for them and that if they want to sell more of them then I feel that all they really need to do is advertise and make them available. It is the most comfortable mouse I have ever owned and there was a very short learning curve for it. I have tried other mice with the trackball at the fingertips and I don't like them at all.

    Hi,

What is the issue that you are facing with your Microsoft D67-00001 Trackball Optical Mouse?

I apologize to inform that the product that you are looking for is no longer in production, and is not available for sale on the Microsoft online store.

I would suggest that you use your favorite search engine to search for a mouse with the same features using the key words among other computer accessories manufacturers Trackball mouse \ Thumb track ball mouse.

Unfortunately they are $200 instead of the $30 they used to sell for.

    Hi,

I don't think Microsoft will be going back and making these trackball mice anymore.

However, you may still contact their Hardware support directly and check.

The trackball still works perfectly, but the ball falls out easy now and I love the design so much that I just wish Microsoft would start making these again with a gaming design.

I have looked at other designs by other companies and Logitech is the only company making something similar but they only produce a wireless model and that is useless in gaming. The other real problem with their model is that it doesn't have buttons on either side of the two primary mouse buttons, which is in my opinion a design flaw when you neglect to utilize those areas as is done with the Microsoft model. It is the reason I went to the Microsoft model years ago, I initially started with a Logitech model.

This basic design with more buttons that could be programmable would be the best mouse on the market. No need to move your hands all over the place and no irritating trackball at your fingertips instead of the thumb. Fingertip trackballs are good for daily use and spreadsheets I suppose but for gaming it just falls on its face as a design. In my opinion.
