Hi, i want to know how can i update the current bios on my sony laptop using disc or usb.

I can't access the windows on the laptop at all, because I am getting STOP: 0x00000"a5 error, which says, your bios is not fully acpi compliant.

This error is preventing me from accessing any live disc or recovery discs.

I would like to know more about disc method tho.

Thanks.

Take it to a repair shop, you've damaged the motherboard/connections

No, it came with win7 and I tried doing default settings.

It didnt work at all. Actually what happen was that I physically opened it and cleaned it. When I tried to clean the heat sink by removing i wasn't able to remove the heatsink and i just cleaned it from underneath the heatsink and put it all together.

I believe that is causing it. But i cant remove the heatsink right now because one the screw on it is stuck and i wasn't able to remove that one.

Do u think it can be the problem?

Did your Vaio function before under win7 or have you upgraded to win7?

If it was working before with win7, view Sony support on how to clear the cmos

If you had fiddled with settings and then had this problem, enter the bios on boot (usually by hitting the Del Btn) and reset the bios to fail safe defaults
