    Hello jamessaindon,

EXE means it is executable. For example WinWord.Exe is the main application for Microsoft Word, click on it and Microsoft Word opens. PPTView.exe is the executable for the PowerPoint viewer. MCUICNT.Exe is the Mcafee User interface container.

Anything with an .Exe extension means it can be run as an application. You can obtain further details here: http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/e/execfile.htm
