Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 inline volume controls not working on Windows 7

I just bought a Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 headset, installed the LifeChat 1.4 software. The earphones and microphone are working normally, also the control buttons for making a call and muting, but the buttons for the volume control won't work. I checked the HID services and they are running, also reinstalled the software and drivers but those buttons won't work.

I'm using Windows 7 Enterprise (64 Bits) on a Dell Studio 15 laptop.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi,

    1. Was it working before?
    2. Have you made any changes to the computer prior to the issue?

    Method 1:

I would suggest you to connect the headphone to a different computer and check with the issue.

If the issue still persists after connecting to a different computer. I would suggest you to contact the hardware support for further assistance:

    Microsoft Hardware

    http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/p/lifechat-lx-1000#support

Method 2: Run the Hardware troubleshooter and see if it helps.

Open the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Open-the-Hardware-and-Devices-troubleshooter

    Hope this helps.

I had the same problem, I just restarte the HID services and now the in-inline volume control buttons are working. It's worth it to give it a try!!!

Thank you very much for your prompt answer. I've never tried the headset before because I just got it from the store. It was kinda wierd but I reinstalled the drivers again and now the buttons are working with no problems.

    Thank you again.
