    Hi,

I would suggest you to replace the driver raspppoe.sys in Windows/System32/Drivers directory with a new one.

    Here’s how you do it.

    a. Rename the raspppoe.sys to raspppoe.old or any other name as per your choice.

    b. Download the file fromhttp://shell.windows.com/fileassoc/0409/xml/redir.asp?EXT=zip and save it in Windows/System32/Drivers directory.

What is your setup?  Are using a PPPOE DSL system?   Since you mention wireless I assume you also have a router?  Or a combined modem/router?  Is the router doing the PPPOE logon (f applicable)?

I doubt that the raspppoe.sys is the base problem especially since you can connect by wireless.  Check the wired NIC status in Device Manger and try upgrading to the latest driver.

    Hi,

The raspppoe.sys process is part of Microsoft Windows and should not be deleted or prevented from loading each time Windows loads. Doing so could cause errors or Windows to stop working.

    1. Why do you say "raspppoe.sys file is bad "?
    2. Are you getting any error messages? If yes, when and what is the exact error message?
    3. How did you try to "replace it"?

The SFC /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions. For more information how to do SFC/ scan, please follow the following link:
