My printer keeps putting documents in the queue but won't print it?

The printer is a Brother HL-2270DW printer.......The device monitor says the printer is ready and "asleep"..I can see the job in the queue and I can cancel it if I want...The odd thing is that the job(s) do print when I do either a "shutdown or restart" on Windows 7, this seems to occur when Windows is trying to shut down all active tasks........It's as if the print queue is being held for some reason.......

Addendum:.....The printer is WI-FI connected and is visible and asleep according to Windows.....All my other WI-FI connected devices work O/K.............

  1. I tried to uninstall and re-install several times,,,,but always ended up with the same symptoms.......
  2. Finally in desperation I connected a USB cable to the printer , re-installed the software and PRESTO is works......

It is still a puzzle why Windows couldn't print the jobs until it was going thru a shutdown.........However, at least now I can use the printer......
