Actually, I do not receive any erorr messages at all. I would click on a link that
should bring up a PDF and only a blank screen appears.
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
I have Windows 7. I hope it is something simple to fix. .I recently downloaded all available upgrades for Windows, including Service Pack 1 & IE9 in July.I upgraded my Adobe Reader, nothing, I took off popup blocker & firewall, nothing, I checked witrh Kapersky, nothing. I installed Foxlite PDF reader, nothing. I need to access PDFs for work and school..I feel it has something from the Windows upgrades I downloaded but have run out of ideas as I am not as technology savy as I used to be. please help. I also noticed after I downloaded the upgrades from Microsoft that I now have something called Windows Defender. I can not find a way to unistalled,
turn it off, etc... thinkiing this may be the root of my problem. Thanks, Dan

No, that's a terrible idea. Just get us some info and we'll go from there.
Thanks for the tip, but I already tried that as well.
Hello,
I would recommend you to restore your computer to previoud date.
Go to start menu -> type system restore -> system restore window will apear -> check on show all restore point below the window and check the date when you think it was working fine.
Thanks,

Hey there Dan,
Is there an error that appears when attempting to open PDFs? Or does double-clicking them simply result in that Open With dialog? Just need a bit more info and should have you back on your feet.
Meanwhile you can find more information about Windows Defender at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Using-Windows-Defender (this wouldn't be the cause of your PDF woes).
