    Hi daveallen1962,

    • Did you try using a different speaker?

First you may make sure that the speakers are connected to the computer and switched on and Windows Audio sound is up and running and not mute or low.

You can run the audio troubleshooter and check this. Follow the steps in the article below to run the Audio troubleshooter:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Open-the-Playing-Audio-troubleshooter

Check if the speaker is set to default.

Method 1: Show Disabled devices and Set speaker as default

Perform the task mentioned below to set speaker as default:

    a. Go to Start and click on control Panel.

    b. Click in Sound, then a new window will open up.

    c. In the new windows click on the tab “Playback" and right click in the window and click on Show Disabled devices.

    d. Now check if Speaker is listed there and right click on it and choose enable.

    e. Highlight that speaker and click on "Set as Default"

Method 2: Check to see if the latest sound driver is installed.

Log onto the manufactures website and download the latest drivers for the device.

For more information, you may refer the following link to update drivers:

You may also connect the speaker to another computer and check if it works fine.
