Hi Renee,
I would like to know the name of web browser with which you experience Shockwave Flash crashes. I would cover solutions for Internet Explorer and Google Chrome, the widely used web browsers.
If you are Internet Explorer user then go to Tools menu, select "Manage Add-Ons" option. Disable Shockwave Flash Player and restart it. Now click Start | Control Panel | Programs | Uninstall a Program. Select this program from the list that appears, click "Uninstall" button. Download a new standalone version from Adobe website here: http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/ . Click "Agree and Install Now" button and go through the on screen instructions. This solution is given to you assuming that your Shockwave Flash Player files are corrupted.
If you are Google Chrome user then your steps are quite different. Google Chrome comes with an integrated version of Shockwave Flash which if misconfigured with any standalone versions installed on your system can result in crashes. In such case, you have to disable the integrated version and let your standalone versions work alone. Go to Chrome, type "about:plugins" (without quotes) in the Address/ Location Bar and press ENTER key of your keyboard. Do you see the Flash Plug-In? If so, click its "+ Details" icon to expand, disable integrated version which File Path refers to ..\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application directory. Let the another standalone version enabled. Once you finish, be sure to update your standalone version of Shockwave Flash Player from the official website of Adobe.
