Packard Bell EasyNote SJ51 co-processor driver is missing

Hi everyone

I have upgraded this Packard Bell EasyNote SJ51 laptop, with native Windows Vista Basic,  to Windows 7 Ultimate.

After a smooth clean installation WU found VGA driver which apparently wasn't embedded in W7U so that I just had to download Synaptic drivers on my own.

So great that I have decided to glorify it with a memory upgrade purchasing some additional RAM.

I have used Speccy to look up for the specifics and then realized that the overall temperature is too high. (70/80 °C)

Once checked hardware management tool I have discovered that the Co-processor driver is missing... so I have ran windows driver research from that panel but the OS suggests to visit manufacturer website which I did, but I really couldn't find anything related to this laptop.

Same on NVIDIA's website.

Any idea where should I look for it safely?

Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hi

    I have installed the

    15.23_nforce_winvista32_international_whql

found on NVidia US and looks like the coprocessor driver has been finally installed.

    Greetings

    Hi

    1. nope but main manufacturers don't give that anymore since XP
    2. there isn't a specific driver on PB website
    3. no errors. and no drivers for Vista on PB website.

First thing I did try is to install it from device manager but it doesn't find it.

What I have found today on NVIDIA US website is Vista's driver for chipset nforce 560. It has been not published on the european version on the site.

    Version:15.23 WHQL

    Release Date: 2008.09.12

    Operating System: Windows Vista

    Language: English (U.S.)

    File Size: 50.8 MB

Looks obsolete to me despite the ones embedded in W7 but I will give it a try and let you know.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi,

    1. Have you received any drivers disc that contains the chipset drivers for the laptop?
    2. What happens when you tried to download the driver from the manufacturer website?
    3. Do you get any error message? Were you able to find the driver for Windows vista?

I would suggest you to install the driver directly from device manager and see if it helps.

    Refer:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isnt-working-properly

Since the model number is not listed in the online official website of Packard. I would suggest you to contact the Packard Bell support for further assistance:

    Hope this helps.
