I was removing programs from my laptop to allow for more memory, but i removed Atheros thinking that it wasn't of any importance. Now i can't connect to my wireless router, but i can connect to the internet using a lead. I have tried reinstalling different programs, a system restore and tried installing programs from the samsung website, but nothing seems to work.

Any wireless program/driver would be obtained from your PC makers web site, more than that I cannot say since you dont mention the make/model of Laptop, other than Samsung

BTW programs dont use memory, accept when they are running, they do consume disk space. And if you are that short of disk space then there are other things you need to be doing, like get a larger drive. And you dont remove/uninstall anything without knowing what it does and the consequences of doing it

As Palcouk said, the Atheros program you uninstalled was the driver for your wireless card. If you were unable to find the driver on Samsung's website, then follow these directions and see if they work.

**Note** This utility does not always work. but it is extremely easy to use. If it doesn't you need to contact Samsung for the driver. These instructions assume you are using Vista or Windows 7

    1. Go to the Start Orb->type Device Manager->click OK to the dialog box that pops up (if it does).

    2. Click on a random device from the list.

    3.  Click Action -> Scan for Hardware Changes.

    4. Right click on the device with the yellow triangle next to it.

    5. Click Update Driver Software.

This will basically query  the internet for the driver. These instructions are from memory, so if you have trouble, ask.

    Drivers here, plus support links..

Ensure that you select the correct Atheros driver. If you have problems installing it and getting it to work, use of the means of contact shown on the same webpage..
