I used a program called IntelliMover and believe it moved over unnecessary files and folders.  How can I identify and delete these files?

Auslogics Duplicate File Finder has the MD5 search engine which allows you to find duplicate files by content,

If you make sure the files aren't used by some program or Windows, then, the answer is YES.

Easier would be, to just search for duplicates in folders where files aren't needed by Windows or programs.

Only when you remove system files can you hurt your computers. If you find "duplicate  files" in your system disk. Removing them will lead to serious results. So you need to exclude your system disk from scanning.

If you use reliable program, all your duplicate files can be removed safely. BTW, 15,000 duplicate files is a large number, most of the programs scan very slow. Use a fast one.

    Hi

Any of the programs mentioned above, or any other program of this type cannot not make a real safe determination about unnecessary files.

Most of these programs at best can id duplicate files based on name, size, and date. However, it is dangerous to delete automatically without looking and make sure that it is not really unneeded duplicate.

This has to be a Human determination. I have a lot of Music, Picture s, Documents, and Application. How any program,or any other person can determine for me what I need, and what is unnecessary

If you are not sure about specific System (OS) Files, make a list and post it.

We can do almost any thing with software, but that does not mean that every thing that is Done is really useful.

My computer repair people also recommended auslogics duplicate finder, but be careful as the moderator noted, that sometimes you remove files that you should not. I had to recover my computer to a set point I made prior to deleting as I must have deleted something important because everything got messed up when I deleted the wrong files.
