How do I uninstall McAfee via the CMD line? It is holding my XP system hostage.

I have a DELL Dimension 2350 that came with XP Home Edition and McAfee.  It sat idle for 2 years after I set it up as a 2nd PC with wireless net access.

Fired it up and it ran very slow and could not send e-mail.  Loaded NORTON 360 via an old CD with the right format.  It started to clean stuff up until it hit the McAfee Security Center stuff.  Then it hung up.

I can't uninstall via Control Panel Add/Remove.  Think I can do it via CMD prompt, or at least remove it from start up queue.  I need help with the commands.

Thanks!

Perhaps you should check the mcafee.com website support.

You can not have more than one active antimalware program.  The results will be like what you are experiencing.

You need to uninstall the products as well as run the removal tool to get rid of them

McAfee:

http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust\_support\_patches/MCPR.exe

Norton:

Download and run the Norton Removal Tool to uninstall your Norton product
