Hi,
You will need to contact HP support team for further assistance with the issue. It might be that the hardware for the internal speaker has gone faulty.
Hope the information is helpful.

Hi,
Similar problem here:
HW: HP Probook 6540 b
OS: Windows 7 Professional 32x
Symptoms: external speakers work fine, but internal totally mute.
Interestingly, when I open Volume Mixer from the taskbar - Device - switch from "Speakers / HP" to "Headphones (RTC)" and THEN lower or raise he volume, a one second long sound comes out of the internal speaker. Does that every time.
Tried disabling/enabling, uninstalling/installing (manually and online) the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC driver, nothing worked.
So let's revive the thread, anyone with any news on the issue?
Has anyone received any feedback from HP support perhaps?
Appreciated,
Ivan
Hi Vid,
I tried all the steps, but non worked, the Sound Icon is still showing *( that is cancelled) but external speakers work fine, please how can i know if the internal speakers is bad? Am fed up of moving around with external speakers for sound output, it's pretty frustrating
Hi, thanks for your response, i have as you recommended before, i still tried it now, when i roll over my cursor over the sound icon, it displays ----->> No speakers or headphone are plugged--<<. still the internal sound is not coming, maybe like you said, it might be the internal speaker, just that i thought such hardware hardly have single out issues with laptops
Hi there,
When you're using the internal (Built-in) speakers, make sure you check the Audio Manager to see if it has been muted and/or configured correctly.
Head into the Control Panel, open the Sound utility, disable and re-enable your IDT High Def Audio device. Also check the volume in there.
If this is a recent problem, try using the System Restore to undo any changes that might have caused this problem.
Last but not the least, there is the possibility that your int. speakers have gone bad.
