I have Windows 7 64-Bit and have just gone through the Add printer wizard using Windows Update and I see 3 entries for your printer:

    • Epson Stylus Colour 1520 ESC/P 2
    • Epson Stylus Colour 1520H(KSSM+)
    • Epson Stylus Colour 1520K ESC/PK   .

Did you click on Windows Update in the wizard and wait for the list to update?

I do not know which of the above you should use even if you do manage to get them listed. It may be worth emailing Epson directly for advice.

There are only 32-Bit drivers on the Epson website. However, this

    http://esupport.epson-europe.com/ViewArticle.aspx?lng=en-GB&kbid=324521

compatibility page indicates the drivers are "Inbox only" which means they may be included in the Windows 7 operating system rather than as a download from the Epson website. Please see:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/install-a-printer .

The Microsoft Windows 7 Compatibility Centre does indicate that your printer is Windows 7 compatible here:

    Sorry, I'm out of ideas.

You could post a question in the Windows Update forum here:

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_update?tab=unanswered

centred around why your driver database isn't updating via Windows Update. The experts on Windows Update may have more idea than me. If you do be sure to include a weblink to this thread for reference.

Thanks Jetta, but I have tried windows update and it says there are no updates available.

I have checked my update history and it says it has updated twcice this month so auto update appears to be working.

When I use the Wizard and click on windows update (as my printer is not on the list) I contiunally get "Windows is unable to get a list of devices from Windows Update.  Please try later."  After 0.5-1 hrs of trying I usually give up!

Epson have said simply plug your printer into the USB port and thye software will automatically download.  I can't do this as the printer is plugged into a hub and in any event is not a USB printer.  But hey, thanks for taking time to try and help.

Why the driver is not available to download and install manually is a mystery too.

Thanks for the reply but although the compatability page says 64bit is compatible the device is not listed and when using windows update there is non available.  So even using 'install a printer' leads to a blind alley as windows update here does not find anything either.
