Re-install both your audio and video drivers. IIRC the HDMI driver is part of the video package.

Hello, I have had this tv which I connect my laptop to for HDMI, It has always worked fine until I did a system restore to fix something ( I problem I did not understand ). But it says my computer is a MTC26T42 monitor. Picture works fine but I cant't make sound come out, and when I go into the control panel to change default it is not even there. Can someoe please help me

Thank you everyone for trying to help me but right now I have another problem with my computer which needs help alot more than this problem
Hi,
Once you are in Device Manager, right click on your computer name and then click on "Scan for hardware changes".
That should make your HDMI Audio device show up again.

Under Sound, video, and game controllers all thats there is Realtek high definition audio. Does that mean it lost its drivers for some reason when I did a system restore?

Most likely your HDMI audio device lost its drivers.
Go to Device Manager.
Is your HDMI audio device under Sound, Video and Game Controllers?
Is it working or does it have a yellow bang by its side?
