Hello,

I have recently brought 4.1 iball speakers but they are not working with my Acer Aspire 5920 Laptop. only the 2 speakers are working and sub-woofer isn't working. I have figured that Configuration is the problem so When I look for "Speaker Setup Configuration in  "Sound" under Control Panel. The only "Audio Channel" available are "Stereo" & It shows only 2 speakers. What should i do to get other "Audio Channels".

so please help me with this problem.

    Hi Aksh06,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community. It seems that you have an issue with I ball 4.1 speakers not working on Windows 7. This can be really frustrating for you and I appreciate the efforts that you have put in. Let us work together as a team try to get this issue fixed.

Let us start with a few questions-

    1)    Do the speakers work on a different computer (running the same Operating System)?

    2)    Have you made any other changes on the computer?

I would like more information regarding the issue.

    Method 1–

I would have you run the fixit-

Hardware devices are not working or are not detected in Windows

    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems/en-us

    Method 2-

Generally, only two speakers can be recognized at a time when you connect them to the CPU.

Two speakers have a common port. So whenever you connect all the speakers, through the woofer, then only two speakers are detected at a time.

I would have you connect all the speakers through the woofer and then purchase a splitter from a local tech shop and connect it to the port on the CPU.

    Check if it works.

Do let us know if you need further assistance. We will be happy to help.

    Thanks.

Only one (1) jack can be used for a 2 speaker stereo out.  For additional side, rear, centre and sub woofer speakers, additional jack would be needed.

    Thanks for replying

    1. i don't have any other system. but i use them with my Nokia mobile phone they work       absolutely fine.
    2. i didn't made any changes to my computer

About Method 1 - i have tried it but it detect anything.

About Method 2 - i also have tried using splitter but still only speakers  are working the bass                      isn't working actually a strange sound comes through it.

I guess the problem is with Sound Card

As only Stereo channel is available in Speaker Configuration no 5.1 or 7.1 available..?

How many audio jacks does this laptop have?   In order to have any advanced speaker set up, besides the standard stereo setup, the is usually one jack per set of speakers and one for a sub-woofer.
