I have no sound on the TV connected through an HDMI output.

I had a Samsung Plasma TV as the Monitor connected through HDMI all worked perfectly before the upgrade but after I cannot get sound through the TV HDMI, I can plug speakers into the PC  but the sound is not as good as the TV speakers.  On the sound settings the Digital output device(HDMI) is shown as not plugged in. please help me come solving the problem.

    Microsoft Team,

    This seems to be a critical bug in Windows 8 OS, so please look into this problem on HIGH PRIORITY.

    We have tried all the common / possible troubleshooting and still i does not help

    Method-

    Make sure that there is volume on the TV.

    You can also make sure that the connections are appropriate. Try connecting to a different HDMI port as well.

    Hi,

    I am also facing the same issue. I upgraded to Windows 8 on my HP Laptop and now I do not get sound on TV when I connect using HDMI cable.

    The cable connection is perfect and I tried with a new HDMI cable as well.

    Please look into this on HIGH PRIORITY

    Hi Im also suffering with the same problem updated to windows 8 and now no sound on the tv through the hdmi connection . Would love some help with the issue as it is very annoying

    I am also having the exact same issue.  No sound when using the HDMI output connected to my plasma panel.  This was working prior to upgrading to Win8.  Sound is working on the laptop, I'm not seeing any issue with the sound drivers and the audio output is working on the headphone jacks so just an issue with HDMI audio output?
