Since you are using Symantec, go to www.symantec.com for support.

You might also try this web site - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com - contains details for many of the common infections, often immediately after they began to appear in the wild, and instructions are provided for how to remove the infections using their malware removal guides. They also have forums where you can seek help from people who specialize in malware removal.

These are other free programs that may help:

    Superantispyware Free - http://www.superantispyware.com/downloadfile.html?productid=superantispywarefree

    TDSSKiller (free) - http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208283363

    HitmanPro (free for 30 days) - http://www.surfright.nl/en/hitmanpro

    @JimmyBozeman

You can follow these steps to remove it manually

    1. Go to Start button then Select the option Run.
    2. Type taskmgr in the given space and press enter.
    3. Or you can also open Windows task manager directly by pressing ALT+CTRL+DEL keys at a time.
    4. From the many tabs at the windows task manager find out the tab called ‘processes’ and click on it.
    5. In the tab find out the Trojan Gen 2 processes which will be in the column ‘image name’.
    6. The Trojan Gen 2 processes which you will find in the column ‘image name’ are:
    • C:\Windows\Installer{872f14e1-fb83-a546-3aee-59cced5657e0}\U\80000000.@
    • C:\Windows\Installer{872f14e1-fb83-a546-3aee-59cced5657e0}\U
    • C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local{c614d3bf-243a-3fd7-a4fd-36cd3756874b}\u\80000000.@

7.Right click on the processes and press Delete.

This Trojan has been a royal pain in the A$$!! But I think I finally found a simple solution for removal that NONE! of the big companies could remove.   Try RogueKiller! it detected the Trojan removed it to my knowledge I rebooted rescanned and it seems to be gone I tried over 10 different cleaners and was on the verge of formatting.  Great utility

    Hi,

Trojan.Gen.2 is a generic detection for many individual but varied Trojans for which specific definitions have not been created. A generic detection is used because it protects against many Trojans that share similar characteristics.

Check this Symantec write up : http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2011-082216-3542-99

Trogan.gen.2 detection is taking place under temp directory ?

There are two tools that Symantec provides to remove threats.

    Power Eraser - http://www.symantec.com/business/security_response...

    SERT - http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?pag...

Check this thread as well: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/false-positive-report
