how do i correct error code 2000-0145, hard drive dst

Whenever I shut down Windows, I get the dreaded "End Program" error. I usually get it several times before the machine actually shuts down. Windows XP

    Sounds as if your hard drive is failing.  Check the error code with your PC manufacturer and see if they have diagnostic software that can run on your computer to diagnose the issue.  This is not a Windows error, this is a hardware error from your computer.
