directx 11 problems with Skyrim

Bethesda says my problem is with directx 11. the DDI version line is blank. (which it is) I cannot find how to fix this. either reinstall or uninstall/reinstall.

    Bethesda said it's a DX 11 problem ?

    Skyrim does not use DX 11, and while it is seems to use some DX10 effects, it is basically a DX9 game ported from consoles (and it shows in some of the textures).

    Bethesda has said it will be introducing a patch with DX11 effects, but I won't be holding my breath. 

    A quote from Bethesda below -

    "Longtime Elder Scrolls fans hoping Skryim would take full advantage of the PC's strengths: unfortunately we have to disappoint you. Game director Todd Howard says besides higher quality textures and bigger resolutions, it "looks the same" as on consoles, and it's "mostly a DirectX 9 game in terms of how the shaders work."

    He does note DirectX 11 support is a possibility down the line, however: "When it comes to DirectX 11 there are things they get us for free, like performance gains. You’re going to get performance gains out of it versus an older version. But the specifics DX11 does, like tessellation and all that kinda stuff, we aren’t taking advantage of that right now. That doesn’t mean we won’t in the future. We aren’t right now because we want to author it so it looks great.”

    While DX11 effects may not eventuate Bethesda have released a full HD re-texture

    that can be installed via Steam. I just downloaded it tonight and it has some good improvements over the originals ( I've only just got the game, but the snow and rock in the mtn's is much better, as are some of the city/castle wall sections).

    Note: The Web Installer will add a couple of DX10 and 11 files that are not in the

    full  Direct X June 2010 redistributable installer package, or in a clean Win7 install.

    A fresh install of Win7 is also deficient of a couple of d3dx9_ .. dll's as well. The Web

    Installer should install them too.
