Cut and Paste Keys on keyboard

Why has nobody ever had the idea to put a single copy and paste key on a keyboard (e.g. the Microsoft keyboard).

(similar to the back, forward, stop, refresh and home keys)

It would (obviously) map to <ctrl c> and <ctrl v> respectively and save me getting RSI in about 20 years.

It seems to me it would be a unique selling point.

I originally asked Bill Gates (billG@microsoft.com) this question but he didn't answer.  :-)

It's hard for me to see that pressing CTRL+C or CTRL+V is more difficult or more likely to cause RSI than pressing a single key, but if you install an app like AutoHotKey or even Microsoft's IntelliType, you can write a macro that will do what you want with a single keypress.  If your keyboard has left and right CTRL and ALT keys, you could make one set into Copy and Paste keys.

I'm not sure what you mean by the "Stop" and "Refresh" keys, unless you're referring to ESC and F5.

Make your own, using a program like Sharpkeys (free at
