Is there a fix for returning to the classic (XP for instance) START menu and DESKTOP in the just released consumer version of Windows 8?

Attention ! I HAVE ESCAPED FROM TILEWORLD! You can too! I did it with Startmenu8, but there are other options.

    ATTENTION MICROSOFT!!!

I've been using Windows since version 3.0! I've been using your OS since DOS 3.0! Take this advice from a LOYAL USER - TILEWORLD SHOULD BE OPTIONAL! Allow us to disable it and get back our Start Button!

We shouldn't have to resort to third-party add-ons to do this!

Microsoft give us back the "start Button"!!!

The current tile replacement may look pretty on phones and small tablets, but is hopeless to work with on an ordinary PC.

    MAKE it Optional!!!!

First off, you can't "revert back", that's redundant, you revert to! With that said, you can easily get the old Windows start menu back with a simple download of the Classic Shell from Sourceforge.

    http://classicshell.sourceforge.net/

It is a very simple fix and you can choose from the XP or Win 7 start menus with full functionality.

Soooo... Microsoft thought is was cute to force the world to become familiar with the Metro UI to boost sales of their smart phones and tablets.   They are going to loose their pants.

    So hear this Microsoft !!!!

For our 1000s of business clients, we will recommending AGAINST the adoption of Windows 8 for business use. The Metro UI is an incredible step backward in efficiency and convenience and requires a massive training effort for end users.

Either provide an update that provides both an option to restore the traditional Windows 7 start menu and boot directly to the desktop, or we will start using terminal services to deliver applications and migrate all of our clients to Linux desktops.

    I AM NOT KIDDING.

There is no native way to return to classic start menu. There are several Apps available in the store app, (Pokii is one) There are several other apps available online that work too.
