It won't create a nightmare because you won't be allowed to upgrade from IE8. IE8 is as advanced as it gets for XP.

I am currently using a pc with windows XP running on it. My question is, can I download, install and run internet explorer 9 or 10 on my computer, or will doing something like that create a big nightmare for me?
