Webcam Companion 3 on windows 7 32 bit, Compaq Mini HP netbook...???

Hi,

I have Windows 7 32 bit on a Compaq Mini HP netbook.

 I tried to download a software for the HP drivers and downloads website to allow me to take photos and video with my laptop. Called Webcam Companion 3

It downloaded and installed fine it seemed (although it didn't ask for the laptop to be restarted which I thought strange)

At first it wouldn't open properly until I finally managed to download wmvcore.dll and then wmvasf.dll to allow it to open properly.

Now however it says it can't access the webcam - which is either being used by another application or not plugged in etc....It works fine when I open with Skype however for example.

And so I can't use this program to take photo or video,

any ideas on what I should do?

Any help much appreciated thanks!!!

Follow the mentioned methods:

Method 1:

Perform Clean Boot and check.

**** Please note:  After the troubleshooting, make sure to boot your computer to normal mode by following the step 7.

Method 2:

Run uninstall and reinstall fix it and check for the issue.
