Turtle Beach Montego DDL sound card not recognized in Windows 8

I just upgraded to windows 8 64 bit from vista 32 bit. I cannot get windows 8 to recognize my Turtle Beach Montgeo DDL PCI sound card. I went to the turtle beach website and downloaded the windows 7 device driver, but it does not seem to work under windows 8. When I try and open the Montego DDL control panel, windows tells me that it cannot detect my sound card. I really want to get this sound card to work under windows 8 as it has digital optical out and dolby digital. Any help would be appreciated.

Ray

Just wanted to say thank you. I have a Turtle Beach Riviera, and figured I'd try that download. It's been almost a month since I've gotten to listen to anything in 5.1. You've made me a very happy man.

    http://www.htomega.com/downloads.html

Scroll to the bottom and download the Windows 8 driver for the Striker Omega 7.1

I did this last night on Win8 32 bit and it worked for me with the exact card you have.

Please post if driver works for Win 8 64 bit.

TB doesn't support their old cards anymore.

I've tried again and have captured screenshots of my attempt. Is there a way to upload the images, or a wordpad file that has my screenshots and steps?

    Thanks

    Hi RayOlson,

Thank you for posting your query in the Microsoft Community. If I understand you correctly, you have an issue with Turtle Beach Montego DDL sound card not being recognized in Windows 8. I understand that it must be frustrating, but rest assured, we are here to help fix your issue and guide you in the right direction.

Let us start with a few questions-

What exactly happens when you try to install the driver?

    Method 1-

Turtle Beach Montego is compatible with Windows 8.

    Refer the link-

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/win8/CompatCenter/ProductViewerWithDefaultFilters?TempOsid=win8&Locale=en-us&TextSearch=Turtle%2BBeach%2BMontego%2B&Type=Both&CurrentPage=0&TotalPages=1&ShowCriteria=0&SortCriteria=Relevance&Compatibility=Unknown&LastRequested=14

    Method 2-

I would have you run the hardware and devices troubleshooter.

    Refer the steps-

    a) Click on “Start” and type “troubleshooting” (without the quotations) and then select “Settings”.

    b) Now, Click on “view all”.

    c) Run the “Hardware and Devices”.

    Method 3-

I would have you download and run the driver in a compatibility mode.

    Refer the steps-

    a)       Download the latest drivers from the manufacturer’s website and Right Click on the driver.

    b)       Now, select “Properties”.

    c)       Select the “Compatibility” tab and then, select “Run this program in the compatibility mode” (select Windows 7).

    d)       Check if it helps.

Do let us know if you need further assistance. We will be happy to help.

    Thanks.
