Need to reset keyboard so U doesn't type as 4 and I = 5 O=6 etc.

THe keys on the right side of my new laptop have a number like a 10 key and I can't undo it.  There is a key that says fn that will change it to the I or O or U but the keyboard is somehow set to stay with the numbers not the letters.  HELP please.

These are letter keys that becomes number keys when the "numeric  lock" is ON with the the corresponding num lk green light. To turn it OFF, press your "fn + num lk" keys at the same time.

If you press Fn + NumLK (num lock key) still not working,

    or

The NumLK (num lock key) doesn't exist,

    try these steps:

    1. Click Start,
    2. Pick Accessories -> Ease Of Access,
    3. Click On-Screen Keyboard.
    4. Click Options,

make sure "Turn on numeric key pad" is Checked, then Click OK.

    1. Then turn off the NumLock button.
