Windows update catalog "view basket" issue

I'm having trouble accessing my basket in the windows update catalog site. I can add items and it keeps track of the number of items in my download basket, but when I click "view basket" I get an "IE cannot display the page" error with no error codes. http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/ViewBasket.aspx is the URL associated with the button I'd like to be able to access, however it was coded in JS so YMMV using the URL directly.

    Using IE8

Compatibility mode was greyed out. the site works now in Chrome. I was having the same issue in both browsers so I'm still convinced it was the site and nothing of mine.

    Hi,

Which version of Internet Explorer are you using?

    Method 1:

If you are using Internet Explorer 8, then I would suggest you to run it in compatibility mode and check.

    a)      Open Internet Explorer

    b)      Go to Tools

    c)       Click on Compatibility view button on the address bar

    Method 2:

If the issue still persists, you may reset Internet Explorer and check.

How to reset Internet Explorer settings

**Disclaimer:**The Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature might reset security settings or privacy settings that you added to the list of Trusted Sites. The Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature might also reset parental control settings. We recommend that you note these sites before you use the Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature.

Hope this helps and keep us posted.

    Also,

When I reload the page that originally came up could not connect it says there's nothing in my basket, even though the actual cart button shows the count of updates I've added to my basket correctly.

Yes my issue occurs only on the windows catalog site.

No, I haven't made any major changes in the software.

The issue isn't any loss of connectivity on my part, it's an error with the code that should be handling my basket. I understand the error it generated is generally used when connectivity is an issue. Can you try to add an update to the catalog basket then click the basket yourself to see if it happens?

    Hi,

    1.      Does the issue occur only on the Windows update catalog website?

    2.      Have you made any recent software changes on the computer?

I would suggest you to go through the steps provided in the link and check if it helps.
