How do you print a PDF file using Windows 8?

I open the document, it brings it up in a separate window, I click Ctrl-P and it brings up a printer menu, then I click on PRINT but it never prints the document.  I've tried it 3 times.  Thanks for any help you can give me!

    Hi Roger,

Thank you for choosing to post your question in the Microsoft community.

I understand that you unable to print PDF’s on your Windows 8 computer. It would help to understand the issue even better if you could answer these questions.

    a.       Does the issue only while trying print PDF’s? Are you able to print from other applications?

    b.      Did you make any changes to the computer prior to the issue?

    c.       Is there any error code or message displayed when it fails to print?

    d.      What is the make/model of the printer?

    Method 1:

    Check for compatibility

I would suggest you to refer to the link for checking Windows 8 Compatibility for the printer.

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/win8/CompatCenter/Home?Language=en-US

If it not compatible, I would suggest you to install the software and drivers in Windows 7 compatibility mode and check if the issue persists.

I am reading the posts here and as I sat here for the last hour trying to print a PDF I am thankful that I am not the only one having this problem. How frustrating this is and we are forced into new software because Microsoft is making it "better"..yeah right. Making themselves more money. I have windows & on my other desktop and now 8 and have wasted so much time doing the most mundane tasks and just continually becoming frustrated. I sell insurance, I'm not a darn computer wiz. What Microsoft fails to understand is that they are developing software at such a fast pace by the time us laypersons become familiar with the new system, it is outdated and we have to totally adjust to the new new system which is completely frustrating and a big waste of freaking time! I spend half my days trying to get the stupid technology to work. Ie..Just spent an hour trying to print.  It's supposed to make life easier, not harder. Yes, time to switch to Mac.

    No, this does not help.

When I open the PDF file, another viewing window opens for the PDF file, in that window there is no option to print. Windows 8 is VERY frustrating.
