ORIGINAL TITLE:Windows 8 Not supporting Games

I recently upgraded to Windows 8 from Windows 7, but I facing some problems in playing games most I liked.

I Have 8GB Ram DDR3, Intel Core i5 3.3GHz and Video Card of ATI Radeon 2 GB.

some games like Grand Theft Auto IV, Counter-Strike Global Offensive, Lara Croft Tomb Raider Anniversary and also most of the games(almost all games) will not supported by Windows 8.

now I feel that windows 8 is not as much worth as I expected to be from Microsoft.

Should I go back for Windows XP SP3?? or is there any updates available for windows 8 to support these.

    Hi Anand,

Thank you for your post and giving us an opportunity to assist you. I understand you are facing issue with some games.

Most of the games you know and love, and played on earlier versions of Windows, will also work with Windows 8, but some older games might not. To see if your favorite game works with Windows 8, go to the Compatibility Center for Windows 8, and then tap or click PC gaming to see if there's info about your game. You can also go to the game developer’s website to see if they have any info or updates.

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/win8/CompatCenter/Home?Language=en-US

You can try installing the games in compatibility mode for the orginal operating system

    it was designed for.

Follow these steps to install the game in compatibility mode.

a)Right click the setup file and click "Properties" and then click the "Compatibility" tab.

b)Check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for” and select the operating

system the game was designed for.

    c) Click on ‘Apply’ and click ‘OK’ and run the file to install it.

    For reference.

For further assistance you would have to contact the game publisher for more information on running the games on Windows 8.

Hope this helps. Feel free to use the forum for any other Windows questions you may have.
