Not entirely on like waiting on the dashboard but on as in sleep mode, I call it that because when you press the power button on the Xbox, it puts it like into a sleep mode. I need to know because I need to download a lot of stuff in a short period of time, thx

    Hi, Esteban,

Leaving your XBox on for extended periods of time will not break the console itself. But it is not suggested that you leave it on for too long. If you are not able to check on the console while it is running then you run the risk of the console overheating, which can cause damage to the system. It is okay to do this every once and a while but running the system for extended periods of time will, over time, lower the life of the system.

Actually if you leave it on it won't damage your whole system but it will burn out your drive to where you can't use it. When the xbox is running and you have a disc in it the lens will get hot and eventually it will over heat and melt. Worst you can get the red ring of death.
