Hey, anyone knows the problem of my external hard disk?

I bought 2 brand new hard disks from TUMI shop in US, unfortunately one of the hard disk is not recognized in my laptop after connecting with USB port. I could not find the external hard disk under "My Computer", so i opened Disk Management, the status of my hard disk showed as " No Media", I tried to change the drive letter and path, but it didnt work.

Seems i could only return it manufacturer, but well, i am living in hong kong, return the hard disk to manufacturer is not a good option for me. Very appreciate if anyone here knows what to do with my new hard disk.

More information:

I just try to Go to Start menu > All programs > Accessories, right click on Command Prompt

First type DISKPART

Next type LIST DISK command  While the windows manager displayed 'Disk 1, 0 bytes, 0 free' for my external device.

SELECT DISK 1

'CLEAN' Command - the computer displayed ' virtual disk service error: there is no media in the device'

'CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY' Command - displayed 'No usable free extent could be found........'

I am currently using Windows 7

    Thank you for your reply.

    The driver provider is Microsoft

    Driver version is 6.1.7600.16385

I have checked on different machine, it didnot work on other machines as well.

For the 2nd method, i tried it. The system gave me the error message Code 80072EE7.

Do you have any idea where to download the drivers from manufacturer's website?

    Thank you!

    Jas
