Hello,

I know this is the wrong Forum, but I found no other MS Forum for MS Hardware.

I got my Sculpt comfort keyboard yesterday. It's a great keyboard, but only the Keys, not the whole keyboard.

1)The Keyboard have 6 Windows 8 keys,

1.1)Is there somewhere a description for this keys? Stop, Play, volume,, search and the control Center, okay, but the 6 other keys?

1.2)It seems to me that the keys from 1.1. are only for Metro.  Can I redefine this keys? I tried the Mouse and Keyboard Center 2.0 for other Keyboards from the MS download page, but this driver can't dedetect the sculpt Keyboard, is there another one? On http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-gb/p/sculpt-comfort-keyboard/V4S-00006 I can't find any downloads.

1.3.)The splited spacebar works more like capslock or numlock with this 3 seconds delay, it's nearly unusable for me. I want change this, but without a driver?

Can someone help me with a driver for it? Someone knows a MS forum for MS Hardware?

Peter

Yes, I know that a lot of MS keyboards have this. But that's not the question. ;)

a)MS have not puplished a driver for the sculpt keyboard.

b)The keys on this keyboard are all pre-defined. Some multimedia keys, some Metro keys, but all are predefined. Even though I would have a MS Driver, I don't know if I could change this keys.

There is a key in line with the 1-5 programmable keys which has a STAR on it. This is the key used to program the 1-5 keys..

Before I had the MS 4000 ergonomic. (cup of coffee accident ;) )

This keyboard had 5 keys with numbers 1-5 and predefined keys too. I can't remember that it was possible to change the predefined keys.

The pcmag link is very informative, but it seems to me something is wrong with the link. If someone read this post, use the google cache site:

I have a MS Digital Keyboard 3000 and comparing the keyboard layout, they are simular, the thing is the MS Mouse and Keyboard Centre recognises my keyboard.

The keys you mention in 1.1., Stop, play. etc control media playback.

The keys marked 1 to 5+ *, are programmable for any app, Metro or Desktop.

It is not the driver you require, but the MS Mouse & Keyboard Centre to recognise your keyboard, (you are aware of that), the keys can be programed from within centre.

The only thing I can think of is, as the keyboard has only just been released it has not been added to the centre support yet

You keyboard is not supported as per list ( great new keyboard, no support)

    http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/help/windows-8/troubleshooting/mouse/supported-devices

This appears on another Ms page , but I can not locate Send Feedback Icon

    "Tell us what you think!

We are interested in your experiences with Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Centre and your Microsoft device!

    • Send your comments and questions by clicking on the Send Feedback icon on the Windows 8 desktop, select Apps then Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Centre from the options listed. "
    • PS; This is only article I found that describes some of the key functions;
