Hello,

When running my PC Checkup(system tests), l encountered a problem, the overall test result revealed that the system board RTC Accuracy Test

WSBO1-HWX failed. How do l rectify the problem so that the RTC Accuracy Test will pass in the future?

Regards,

Amos.

    Hi, Amos,

What is your computer make/model and Windows Operating System?

RTC Accuracy Test - This test verifies the accuracy of the RTC on the motherboard and compares it to the CPU's clock to determine if the motherboard and CPU clock are too out of sync. This test will uncover problems with system time updates, periodic interrupts, and alarm interrupts. If the test detects errors with the RTC accuracy, it will log the test as Failed and report additional details in the test log.

Your Windows system time may not be the same as Bios time.

    Check in Bios

    Match it with Windows time

If the clock keeps losing time, check the battery

You may need to replace CMOS battery

RTC is real time clock.  If it fails or continues to lose time, yes the recommendation is to replace CMOS.

You'd do the same with any battery operated wall clock.

I realize this is an old post, but what if the RTC Accuracy Test fails but the CMOS test passes?  Would anyone still suggest replacing the CMOS battery?
