Hi Team,

Kindly help me with the trouble what I am facing. I will list the issues.

  1. When I log in to my system in Normal mode, It logs in and immediately in 1 sec goes into a blank white screen in which i cant do anything. Like even cant right click and get something.
  2. My system has been previously infected with FBI Virus 3 months back and I resolved it by going to Safe mode and cleaned up the syatem. I tried to do same thing and logged into the Safe mode and also Safe Mode with Networking.
  3. This Virus did a strange thing. Even in Safe mode after the boot it went the same blank white screen.
  4. In Safe mode with Networking it showed me something like after the boot "like my system was infected with FBI Virus". The same page what we get for the FBI Virus. But I did not get this FBI SCreen in Safe mode and Normal mode but only a blank white screen.
  5. Then I went to Safe mode with Command Prompt. Looked like i did not get any issues there. But the problem is i do not know the commands to use there. Tried some things by googling but in vain.

Looks like this virus is a worst one that it even damages the system in Safe mode. I am not able to anything in any of the modes other than Command Prompt. Immediatley after the boot it goes white and blank. Is this a new virus and anyone can help me how to resolve this.

Your help is highly appreciated. Thanks!

Regards,

Bala.R

Are you able to boot into Safe Mode with Networking?

Malicious Software Removal Tool will remove a rootkit

It will allow you to get deep inside of the operating system and see if it can spot the intruder.

Once it does, it will do all that it can to flush it out.

When your wallpaper loaded, could you see the start button?

Press Windows Flag key + R to open Run box

    Type iexplore.exe

    Press Ok

This launches an Internet Explorer window

If you can open an IE window and access the internet, run this free online scanner

    http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

If you can only access Safe Mode Command Prompt Window

    Type devmgmt.msc

    Press Enter

    It will open Device Manager

Look for yellow exclamation points or question marks

    Right click on these drivers

    Select Properties

You will see a message such as cannot load in safe mode or error code 23

Error code messages you may uninstall

I gave you this link earlier.  Follow the suggestions and use TaskManager to open the Run box again.  You can browse to these file locations and remove them if they are there.

See Kuttus Ram's Suggestion for removal:

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/protect/forum/protect_other-protect_scanning/fbi-virus/f73ae0fc-fa54-4890-a558-ef74d6b77018

These are manual instructions on removing FBI virus.  Print them out so you can remove them the same way.  Scroll down to bottom of the page for manual instructions

    http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-fbi-virus.html

In Command prompt window type Regedit.exe

    Press Enter

    This opens Windows Registry

Look for the keys described in the manual removal instructions and delete them

    Back up the registry first

    HI.

Thanks. I tried as you suggested. But when I tried to run the "Sophos Anti Root kit" from the USB Drive, it says it cannot be run in a safe mode.

But I was able to do a complete full scan using:

    Malicious software removal tool

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16

However, I did not get any File with Virus Infections from this scan. After that When I tried to login using Normal Mode, I still get a Blank SCreen after few seconds of my wallpaper gets loaded.

Can you please suggest any other rootkit removers that could be run from Safe modes too? I will try them. Sophos doesnt work in SAfe Mode. Thanks!

Remove the drive from the computer.

Connect it up to another host as a second drive.

Let Malwarebytes run a full scan on it.

Remove anything bad that Malwarebytes finds.

Put the drive back in it's original host.

It should be ok now.. :-)

I know that this works for the White Screen problem because I used the same fix on a neighbour's machine, and it took it clean off..

Borrow a friends computer.  Download these tools and save them to a USB flash drive

    Rootkit Removal

    http://www.sophos.com/en-us/products/free-tools/sophos-anti-rootkit.aspx

When finished, download the following and run a full scan

    Malicious software removal tool

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16

    Go back to your computer

Plug in the USB flash drive

Boot into Safe Mode with Command Prompt

Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to bring up Task Manager   Edit:  Windows 7 - Type taskmgr

    Press Enter

Click Task to open the Run box

    Click Browse

Navigate to the USB flash drive

Double click on the file to execute installation

    Run full scan

    When finished, type C:>shutdown /r

    Press Enter

    This will restart the computer
