image failed to verify with access denied

I have just got a problem on my 10 days old lenovo z580 laptop.

Windows 8 made some updates on 10th of January and never opened again.. I am so frustrated

as soon as i open the laptop it says "SECURE BOOT / image failed to verify with access denied press ok to continue"

i press ok and system setup comes up , there is nothing to do there..I can't even reboot it or reach to f8 setup.. I disabled secure boot and restarted again  then i could reach the windows 8's RECOVERY *error code 0xc0000428 your pc needs to be repaired.* and says *the digital signature for this file couldn't be verified*

it seems like windows 8 has blocked itself on the laptop..

I also have the same problem. I just updated my lenovo laptop at the insistence of Windows 8. I bought my laptop 4 weeks ago and it came pre-loaded with Windows 8

Windows 8 tried to update to 8.1, everything seemed fine, until it rebooted. Now it gives me this error:

    "SECURE BOOT

image failed to verify with *access denied*

    ok"

By pressing OK, the only thing I can get to is the Bios after two reboots.

I have not been able to get past it. Please advise for a fix.

I have the same problem. I just updated my samsung laptop at the insistence of Windows 8. I bought my laptop two weeks ago and it came pre-loaded with Windows 8. I have not yet created a backup DVD, because the new desktop is extremely confusing and I could not find my control panels or any other obvious option to create a backup.

Windows 8 has been insisting I update for the last week and so I finally did. Everything seemed fine, until it rebooted. Now it gives me this error:

    "SECURE BOOT

image failed to verify with *access denied*

    ok"

By pressing OK, the only thing I can get to is the Bios after two reboots.

    Hi Sar Psayin.

From your issue description, I understand that “after installing the updates you are not able to boot to the desktop”. Please let me know if you are not facing this issue.

Method 1I would suggest you to perform startup repair using Windows 8 DVD.

    a) Once you get the welcome screen of installation with the option “Install now”

    b) Click on Repair your computer

    c) On the next page click on Advanced Options

    d) Now click on Troubleshoot

    e) Lastly click on Startup repair and follow the on screen instructions

This may take 15 to 20 minutes to repair. Once completed try to login to your desktop

Note: If you have purchased Windows 8 online from Windows store but did not select the option to include a Windows 8 backup DVD, you may use the Windows Order Summary page to purchase backup media and have it shipped to them.

    Method 2

if the issue still persists, then I would suggest you to perform system restore from the same recovery console.

    a. Press ‘Windows Key + r’

    b. In the run window type ‘rstrui.exe’ and click on OK

    c. Click on next in the System Restore windows

    d. Now choose the restore point of your choice, and try to restore your computer back to earlier state.

If the issue persists, post your reply with results and questions asked as above. We are happy to assist you further with advanced troubleshooting steps!

    Hi Vijay ;

Thank you for your immediate respond

Yes I can not boot to the desktop, I directly get "secure boot access denied" error. when I press enter, laptop's system configuration setup comes up, when I disable the secure boot on that setup and restart the computer, I reach to the windows 8's "recovery/ your pc needs to be repaired" screen

So from what you have said, I understand that I need definitely a windows 8 dvd, it seems there is no another way to reboot it or restoring the system on earlier dates

Windows 8 has came within the laptop, I didn't recieve any windows 8 dvd, and I don't know the "order number" even if I order it , sounds like, it will take weeks to have it

I am going to take laptop back to the shop where I have bought it from, but I wonder why 10 days old windows has crashed.. issue makes me nervous, how will I trust it again and make sure it won't crash again, we users are saving many datas on our pc's, and it is really bad for us to loose them, because when you send it to the service they just delete everything and install windows from begining
