Does anyone know how to get windows 8 to accept microsoft LX3000 headset? It will not accept the disc nor a downloaded driver from microsoft. Put in the disc and load it and it comes up with something like "Cannot accept this product as yet please try again later"

I use the headset on my pc and it is fine and use it on other pcs and laptops and it is just plug in and go, but on new Samsung series 3 laptop with windows 8, nothing, sound just still comes through speakers and I need the headset to work. HELP PLEASE!!!!

Hi, I'm having same problem. There is no advice or instructions on packaging. The 'properties' box does not show the information you are mentioning. I have windows 8, and I've done the download for windows 7, just not working at all. So frustrating, please help.

Thanks very much Method 2 worked for me. I have looked all over and spent about three hours on this issue and found nothing until this advice. But who would  know to do this series of steps? I am a former MSFT employee and am very loyal to the Company and its great products but sometimes they make things difficult.
