I recently downloaded a few fonts from urbanfonts.com. I do not have Word on my PC but I do have WordPad. Would it be possible it add the fonts, and if so, where would I go to add the fonts?

Note: My laptop is a Windows 8 PC. Does this affect anything? Also, it does nothave a CD drive buit into it, though I did purchase an external CD drive. I don't know if this affects anything because I am not great with technology.

Is there any way to add new fonts?

    Hi Jean,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

You have enquired about adding a font to Word pad. Yes, you will be able to add fonts to WordPad. However you need to add it in the computer and the fonts will be available in any application you use.

To add fonts to font folder please follow the steps.

    a.       If the font which you have downloaded is in zipped format, right click on it and click extract to extract the folder.

    b.      Copy the fonts file which you have downloaded.

    c.       Press Windows key + E.

    d.      Click on the drive in which you have Windows 8 installed. (Usually it is C: Drive).

    e.       Open the Windows folder.

    f.        Search for Fonts folder.

    g.       Paste the fonts in this folder.

    h.      You might need to restart the WordPad to apply changes.

Hope this helps. If the issue persists or for any Windows related queries or issues, please get back to us. We are here to assist you.

I know this is around three years or so after this was posted, but I need help.

I'm using Wordpad to write a fanfiction/book revolving around Skyrim, and I figured out that the font was Futura Medium Condensed. I did what you said, and apparently it isn't a valid font. Do you know how I can fix this?
